In 2026, RCL hopes to build a Tuesday Lunch program. To do so, we need a dedicated RCL volunteer who will work with our partner organizations to deliver the program.
Context: Since the dissolution of the Senior Citizen Opportunity Neighbourhood Association (SCONA), there are no longer monthly luncheons for seniors at Ritchie Hall. The League wants to bridge that gap with support from other community leaders.
We hope to develop a simple but healthy Tuesday Lunch program that runs on a bi-weekly or monthly basis for seniors, new moms, stay at home parents, and any individuals or families that are looking for connections. No cost, requirements or gimmicks. Just community doing community things.
We are looking for someone who can be the league representative to co-plan these monthly or bi-weekly lunches with a small team. This is not a board position, but it is board-appointed. This person would work closely with a Director and Operations Manager at the League hall as well as with other League volunteers and representatives from other organizations.
Time commitment: About 12 hours per month, shared among the planning team. There may be more work required at the outset, until the program gets rolling.
