New Hall Project Overview
Our vision is a future-forward, welcoming space that reflects the vibrant spirit of Ritchie - and our friends next door — accessible to all, designed for connection, and built with energy security and built to last.
The new hall will feature:
Fully accessible spaces and barrier free entry into hall
Room for 280 people, with three flexible community event and programming spaces
A geothermal and solar-powered design — carbon zero
A safe haven for extreme weather
A fully accessible catering area
Winter warming area and skate room
Space that connects to the natural landscape and trees that define our neighbourhood
how is the project funded?
The replacement project is budgeted into two phases. Phase 1 is the construction of the building (funding secured) and Phase 2 is to finish and furnish the new building and complete the site improvements (plaza, parking lot, rink/courts).
Phase 2 - what we are looking for is sponsors who align with Ritchie values, additional grants, and donors who recognize the benefit of being part of a welcoming community and support the project. We need to turn the shell of a space to make it operational for programs and events.
And we’re so close. We’re rallying to raise a final $280,135 for finishings to the new hall, solar panels, and for repairs/improvements to the rink/court area.
Solar Panel Sponsorship - You can sponsor a panel, in your or a loved one’s name.
Space for Arts and Recreation (for all) - Grants, donations, and naming sponsors.
Bring Events to Life - Grants, partnerships, naming sponsors and a fundraising gala
Finishings include a moveable wall, braille signs, rubber flooring, cabinetry, appliances and for the site, finishings include a plaza and court area, LED lights, tree planting, resurfacing the rink/courts, adding basketball nets.

Mission: To create a state-of-the-art, carbon-zero facility that meets the highest standards of accessibility and serves as a dynamic venue for artists, musicians, and cultural events. Our revitalized hall will also provide a welcoming environment for programs, community gatherings, private functions, and social events, inspiring sustainable development and enriching the cultural fabric of our community and our city.

Revised site plan to leave trees untouched, save cost on service line connections, and create a plaza space for outdoor community events.
Features: A winter skating/seating plaza open daily, a shinny rink, same room for pickleball (4 courts inside rink), but adds basketball into the rink or at plaza.
