Let’s Finish the New Ritchie Hall
The new Ritchie Hall is more than a building. It will be a gathering place for arts, recreation, celebrations, learning, and connection for generations to come. While construction funding is largely secured, community support is still needed to finish and furnish the spaces that will bring the hall to life.

Whether you sponsor a solar panel, support a program room, enhance accessibility, or help equip the kitchen, your contribution will help create a welcoming and sustainable home for community life in Ritchie.
Charitable receipts are available when you support Garneau Community League, grant program, where the Ritchie Community League has applied for grant funds. The amounts available to donate is $475, $1 500 or $5 000. Garneau does’t have a place to gather, like a hall so our grant agreement allows them do have a space they can call home.
Projects you can support:
1. Support the Community Kitchen
The kitchen was identified by residents as one of the most important features of the new hall—a place where food brings people together and knowledge is shared across generations. The Kitchen area is not a commercial kitchen but instead a place for catering staging, workshops for canning and baking, and wheelchair accessible.

Catering or concessions for community events
Food workshops and classes
Canning and preserving sessions
Food security initiatives

What’s it for? Wall cabinets for storage, drink fridge, cabinetry, and an all-in-one washer/dryer unit.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
Raffles and Concert proceeds will to go towards the funds needed to close the gap.

The first online 50/50 winner was drawn on Community League Day, and it raised close to $1,000!
Raffle ticket costs: $10 for one, $20 for 3, $50 for 10, $100 for 25 (best value)
B. Attend a fundraising concert.
We have talented friends in Ritchie! Attend one of our concerts to help support the kitchen, all while
August 26 - Thanks to Martin Kerr and Bent Stick, we raised about $4,000!

2. Energize Ritchie – Solar Panel Sponsorship
Sponsor a solar panel for $475 each, sponsor up to four (OPENING Oct 2026)
how will YOUR SUPPORT help?
Support Ritchie to become one of Edmonton's most sustainable community spaces with a solar-powered, carbon-zero building. The solar generation will reduce operating costs and provide climate resiliency.
Where we are at:
Target: $148,000
How much left to reach target: only ~$70,000 for 150 panels
What’s it for? Solar panels, micro-inverters, installation, and monitoring system.
what CAN YOU do?
Sponsors can dedicate a panel in honour of a loved one, family, or business and become part of the hall's renewable energy legacy.
Recognition: Name a solar panel for $475 or a larger area with four panels for $1900 and become part of the solar map on display in the hall.
3. Make the hall truly inclusive - accessible for all abilities

How much left to reach target: $6,805
What’s it for? Braille maps of the facility and washrooms, colour contrast for visually impaired, sound panels that dampen sound.

4. Create Spaces for Arts & Recreation - Indoors and Out.
These adaptable rooms and multi-use outdoor space will make affordable community programming possible for residents of all ages while supporting local instructors, vendors, and other non-profit organizations.

What’s it for? Partition wall, rubber flooring, repairing and resurfacing areas for a plaza, multi-use court/rink.

Flexible program spaces will allow us to host:
Dance and movement classes
Drama and theatre programs
Adult fitness and wellness programs
Sportball and children's recreation
Girl Guides and youth leadership programs
Social gatherings for seniors, men, women, new moms, and diverse cultural groups.
Workshops, clubs, and community learning
Plaza area that supports active movement for all ages, youth winter skating
Court/Rink area that supports pickleball, basketball, ball hockey, and ice hockey/basketball/pickleball.

5. Bring Community Events to Life - a Creative Hub
The new hall will feature flexible event spaces for up to 275 people, creating a much-needed venue for community events and emerging artists in Edmonton.

Target - $70,350 - best option for naming rights in the hall space.
What’s if for? The stage, lighting, noise control, and seating.
