Help others with a donation
Ritchie challenged leagues across the city to get moving this winter, but it issued an extra challenge to its own members: raise $2,000 for charity.
If you have the financial means to make a donation, consider these organizations that support the mental health of our neighbours. We’ve set up a donation page on CanadaHelps for these three Edmonton charities:
- i-Human Youth Society
- The Mustard Seed (Southside Shelter)
- Momentum Walk-in Counselling
Ritchie logs 3,620 km last week, but still trails Hazeldean
Leagues are to report their results weekly by Sunday night. The above is a screenshot taken Wednesday morning, March 23, 2021. The most up-to-date results see the Results page.
Down to the wire, Ritchie and Hazeldean together have logged twice as many kilometres as the 16 other leagues combined in the three-month Move for Mental Health Challenge.
Now, with just one week to go, here’s where things stand:
- Hazeldean is in the lead, with 36,951 km.
- Ritchie is in second place, with 32,379 km. This DESPITE having logged 3,620 km last week alone!
- Together, the 18 leagues participating have logged 143,359 km. (Some league have combined their efforts under one name in the official records).
- All are succeeding in fighting winter’s doldrums and pandemic isolation.
The Move for Mental Health Challenge is into its final week. It ends on March 31.
