So, what does Civics look like? There are lots of ways to engage with the City and help Ritchie take advantage of what the city has to offer:

  • Write to the city on behalf of the league

  • Liaise with city representatives

  • Investigate and report on various issues, such as:

  • The occasional special project

  • Set up surveys to learn community priorities

  • Send us your written opinions

  • Talk with community members and report back

Did You Know?

Community leagues have a unique position to forward the wishes of the larger community in discussion with property developers and the City of Edmonton’s planners. The Civics Director addresses community member concerns and is the league’s voice when further advocacy is required. Some common areas include city planning, development, and transportation.
