Warm up with creativity, confidence, and community! Our Winter Classes invite performers of all levels to explore the magic of the stage through acting, movement, and storytelling. Guided by experienced instructors, students will build performance skills, strengthen their stage presence, and collaborate on scenes, monologues, and ensemble work—all in a fun, supportive environment.

Whether you’re stepping into the spotlight for the first time or refining your craft, these classes offer the perfect opportunity to stay inspired through the colder months. The session culminates in a lively showcase where students share their work with family and friends.

RCL members get the early bird rate of $50 off at any point in registration, but are still encouraged to sign up early as spots fill up!


Adult Classes at the Ritchie Hall

Improv 101

Mondays starting January 19, 6 to 8 pm (no class on February 16)

Learn the fundamentals of improv in a fun and supportive environment. Students will build a strong foundation of self-acceptance, spontaneity, and playfulness as they learn to make up scenes on the spot. This class will focus on the basics of improv and how to get started as a performer. Join long-practicing improviser and teacher John Battye for an engaging and high-energy experience.

Renaissance Dance Class

Mondays, 6-7pm

FALL Session: SEPTEMBER 22 - dECEMBER 8

SteStep back in time and join us for an immersive class exploring the rich tapestry of historical dance styles! Experience the charming Inn’s of Court’s Almans and Pavanes. Have fun learning the joys of French circle dances. Enjoy the lively dances and delightful sounds of traditional English country dancing. Step into the rhythm of history and connect with others as you learn the graceful movements and lively steps that have captivated dancers for centuries.

No prior experience needed. Invite a friend to join you!

Drop-ins are welcome

  • FREE for RCL members; registration by donation for people from other leagues

  • Please wear comfortable shoes and clothing that is easy to move in

  • Bring a water bottle

  • Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult

All ages and skill levels are welcome. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Bring a comfortable pair of shoes, and a water bottle. Why not bring a friend to dance with and enjoy the fun! Instructors Jeanette Dunnett and Leslie Main Johnson

Jeanette has been dancing for 19 years and teaching for 16years. Jeanette specializes in English Country dancing, though she teaches all four styles.

Leslie has been dancing for 32 years. She has 30 years of experience playing historical dance music. Leslie’s specialties are Almans, Pavans, and French circle dances, and she also teaches some Italian Renaissance dances and English Country Dances.

Improve your physical and mental well being with yoga!

We use props to make the poses accessible to all participants, and have some yoga blocks and straps available to borrow for the class. If you have your own, please feel free to bring them!
