TERMS and CONDITIONS for SINGLE-USE RENTAL of RITCHIE HALL

  • A security deposit is required to secure your rental date. This deposit will be returned or destroyed after your booking, assuming all Terms and Conditions are met and cleaning checklist is complete, signed and returned to the office.

  • If the hall is not properly cleaned, a cleaning fee of $100/hr will be charged.

  • If a noise complaint is filed against your rental, $100 from your deposit will be retained.

  • If the door is left unlocked or they key is not in the lock box, $100 from your deposit will be retained.

  • Rent and proof of insurance is due TWO weeks before your rental.

  • We accept cheques made payable to Ritchie Community League, cash and money orders.

  • You are responsible for damages to the inside and outside of the hall during your rental.

  • Ritchie Community League assumes no responsibility whatsoever for any damages or injuries to persons on its property however caused, including any claims arising out of dispensing of food or alcoholic beverages.

  • A certificate of short-term rental insurance verifying that the renter has $2 million general liability insurance is required. It must name Richie Community League as an additional insured and indicate that the event is taking place at Ritchie Community League Hall.

    • This may be available through your own insurance or various brokerages. It is also available online through a partnership between the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues and Foster Park Insurance: www.fpb.ca or quote.fosterpark.ca/community-league.

    • Liability for sporting events must cover injury to participants.

    • If serving alcohol, the insurance must cover host liquor liability.

  • If alcohol is being served, a liquor licence must be produced TWO weeks prior to your rental. It must state that service will end at 1 a.m. and consumption will end at 2 a.m. Please ensure your servers are Pro-Serve certified: www.proserve.aglc.ca Your license must be displayed at all times while serving alcohol.

  • In the event of a cancelation, written notification must be provided two weeks prior to the booked date. If insufficient notice is submitted the security deposit will be retained.

  • We retain the right to cancel your rental for any reason.

  • Do not exceed capacity: Large hall 149; Small hall 60; both halls combined 149.

  • Ritchie Hall closes at 2 a.m. All guests must have quietly dispersed, the facility and grounds must be clean and hall locked by 2 a.m.

  • Keep all noise contained within the hall after 10 p.m.; amplified music must end by midnight.

  • Smoking, vaping and the consumption of cannabis is permitted only 10 meters from the front and small hall door, the playground, spray deck and sport facilities (rink, courts, ball diamond).

  • If using the kitchen, bring your own dish towels and cleaning clothes. Soap is provided.

  • All areas of the hall must be left in a clean condition. Supplies and a checklist of items to clean will be provided. Rubber gloves are not provided.

  • Decorations may be put up with masking or packing tape. Duct tape is not permitted. All decorations, including tape and other fasteners must be removed following your rental.

  • NO glitter or confetti of any kind is permitted. Bouncy castle are also not permitted.
